Ash - CalicoLight coloured sapwood
and light brown and pale yellow heartwood streaked with brown. Straight
grained with a coarse uniform texture. Bold, straight, moderately open
grain with occasional way figuring. Flat sawn boards can show strong grain
and colour contrast, hence the name "calico". |

Ash - Quarter Cut Similar to Ash-Calico but quarter cut, pale yellow with consistent grain, minimal dark heartwood.

Cherry - Flat Sawn Rich red to reddish
brown heartwood that darkens with exposure to light. Creamy white sapwood.
Fine uniform straight grain, smooth texture, and may naturally contain
brown pith flecks and small gum pockets. |

Hard Maple - NaturalCreamy white sapwood
with red brown tinge and heartwood ranging from light to dark reddish
brown. Close fine textured grain that's usually straight though sometimes
can show curly, "birds-eye" figures. A
hard and heavy wood with good strength properties and excellent resistance
to abrasion and wear. |

Hickory - CalicoHickory heartwood
is tan or reddish; sapwood is white to cream, with fine brown lines. Close,
rough-textured grain. Hickory provides a natural and unique combination
of strength and hardness. |

Red Oak - Flat SawnWhite to light brown
sapwood and pinkish reddish brown heartwood. Similar to white oak, with
a less pronounced figure and smaller rays. The wood is mostly straight
grained, with a coarse texture. |

Walnut - Flat SawnHeartwood ranges from
a deep, rich dark brown to a purplish black. Sapwood is nearly white to
tan. Often a big difference between heartwood and sapwood colour, offering
exciting design opportunities. Straight and open grain with some burled
or curly grain. Moderately
dense and very strong, less dent-resistant than oak. |
